Masterclass

In this page you will find some practical information about the masterclass program for 2010/2011 “Moduli Spaces”. Closer to the time of the lectures, each lecturer will update their webpage with relevant information for the course their are giving.



Fall term


Courses for the first semester start on week 36 and finish on week 50 (inclusive):

Moduli space of curves: combinatorial aspects (lecturer Sergey Shadrin). Mondays from 10:00 to 13:00 at several different rooms, in Amsterdam science park.

Introduction to stacks (student seminar series led by Jochen Heinloth). Mondays from 15:00 to 17:00 at different rooms, in Amsterdam science park.

Riemann surfaces (lecturer Gil Cavalcanti). Thursdays from 10:00 to 12:00 at several different rooms, in Utrecht.

Jacobians and theta functions (lecturer Robin de Jong). Thursdays from 13:00 to 15:00 at the Maths Building, room 611, in Utrecht.


Exam week for the first term will be from 24/01/11 to 28/01/11.

The exam on Jacobians and theta functions will be on 25/01/11 from 14:00 to 17:00 in room 611.

The exam on Riemann surfaces will be on the 26/01/11, from 14:00 to 17:00 in room 611.



Spring term


Courses for the second semester start on week 5 and finish on week 20 (inclusive). The courses for this term will take place in Utrecht in room 611 of the maths building on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 to 12:00 and 13:00 to 15:00.

Moduli space of curves: geometric aspects (lecturer Eduard Looijenga). Wednesdays from 10:00 to 12:00.

  1. Moduli space of Abelian varieties (lecturer Gerard van der Geer). Wednesdays from 13:00 to 15:00.

  2. Research seminar (led by Gil Cavalcanti, Eduard Looijenga and Jan Stienstra). Thursdays from 10:00 to 12:00.

Introduction to conformal field theory (lecturer Andre Henriques). Thursdays from from 13:00 to 15:00.

Exam week for the second period will be from 23/05/11 to 28/05/11.



Test problem



Deadline for the marks of test problem to be sent to the secretary is 20/06/11.
