I am an Assistant Professor (Dutch: Universitair Docent) at the Software Technology group of the Institute of Information and Computing Sciences at Utrecht University. My current (research) activities focus on implementing a type inferencer for the Haskell type system, which will culminate in the Utrecht Haskell Compiler. On a more irregular basis I also work on tool support for writing. See the research page for more detail. I am also interested in the broader context of software technology: Software Architecture/Engineering, Object technology. This has been (and is) the focus of my educational activities, in the present (and recent years) or (even longer ago) past. My current educational activities are mainly focussed on compiler technology.
