Thank you for composing this splendid bibliography - what a lot of work! I wanted to mention a possible other source for some items that might not be in your bibliography. If you go to our online catalog, URANIA

http://moon.usno.navy.mil/urania.htm

and in the subject entry box type

transit & venus
(you must use the "&")

you will get all the works in our catalog on this subject. Most are books, but you might want to check and see if there are additional items there which are not in your bibliography.

I did want to mention that the catalog record below from Urania covers Pt. II which was never published. It has the actual results of all the USNO expeditions from the 1874 transit. It actually made it page proof status, and then funds ran out. I recently had 2 photocopies made on acid free paper, one of which we had bound and the other we left in loose pages. At present, the loose page copy is being scanned at ADS and will be posted full text there. They are going to try and have this up before the IAU meets in July. This is the first time this information will be available to anyone who has not visited the Naval Observatory Library and looked at this publication here.

I will be mentioning the availability of this publication in a talk being given "in absentia" at the Archives session of Comm. 41 at the IAU. Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend all the interesting sessions planned by Comm. 41.

Again, thanks for compiling this wonderful bibliography. If you have no objection, I will announce this link on the Physics-Astronomy-Mathematics Librarians discussion list.

All the best...

Brenda
