bio
Wolfgang Hürst is an assistant professor at the Department of Information and Computing Sciences and a lecturer in the bachelor program "Gametechnologie" and the master program "Game and Media Technology" at Utrecht University, The Netherlands. His research interests include mobile computing, human-computer interaction, augmented and virtual reality, and multimedia systems and technologies, mostly with a focus on gaming and media interaction. In his work, he investigates innovative ideas, studies the fundamental research questions involved, and applies the gained knowledge to create new, better approaches for man-machine interaction. His results have been published in various articles in high ranked scientific publications. His teaching focuses on areas related to multimedia technology and interaction, including but not limited to courses on multimodal interaction, mobile interaction, virtual and augmented reality. He is a member of IEEE Computer Society, ACM, ACM SIGMM, ACM SIGGRAPH, ACM EuroMM, and GI (Germany), and currently serves as associate editor on the editioral board of IEEE Transactions on Multimedia.
