Mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets are quickly becoming the main way for accessing information and dealing with digital data. There ability to process multimedia data such as text, images, audio, video, and 3D graphics allows us to create new and exciting applications. Yet, the mobile context in which these devices are used and their unique form factor pose tremendous challenges on interface and interaction design. In our research group, we are investigating innovative approaches for mobile interaction utilizing techniques from Graphics, AI, Computer Vision, and HCI to create better interaction experiences and invent new ways to use multimedia in mobile computing - mostly in the area of gaming and entertainment.
