The Design

These pocket lights were used by the Bescherming Burgerbevolking, the Civil Guard. They are sometimes sold as German War relics, but this type is too new for that. The light is shaped like a small box, holding the square battery. The cover has a green and red glass. Inside is a small clasp, I think to hold a spare light bulb (not included).

The daimon flashlights were indeed used by the German army in the Second World War, including a type 2233. But Daimon reused the number 2233 for a later series of torches in the nineteen fifties. The war type had three colored glassed (also a blue one) and did not have the text Made in Germany.
