The Design

Built in 1968, the radio equipped with tubes was almost an anachronism. But among the tube radios it is one of the modernest radios. It features five preset pushbuttons for FM stations, a stereo demultiplexer, and push-pull output stages with the ECLL800 tube. This very special tube contains two powerful output pentodes and a phase inverter triode, all in one bottle! Yet the tube has a normal Noval base with only nine pins. The radio comes with two separate speaker boxes.

This Object

When I bought the radio it was not completely functional, but complete and the cabinet was in reasonable condition. It needed a few standard repairs and later the replacement of the unusual ECLL800 and EMM803 tubes.
