Numerical mathematics colloquium Utrecht

Intro

The purpose of this colloquium is for the numerical mathematicians in Utrecht to get acquainted with each other's research. Once in a while, there will be a talk from one of the participants, followed (or interrupted) by discussion.

The schedule is shown below. Talks should be no longer than 45 minutes. Count on interruptions. After the talk, there will be plenty of time for questions.

If you would like to give a talk, please contact Albert-Jan Yzelman.

Notes for speakers

Preparation

Please provide a title and abstract for your talk to Albert-Jan Yzelman, or the person who asked you to give a talk.

Your talk should be no longer than one hour. Count on many interruptions. Discussion, computer sessions, etc. afterwards are possible.

Audience / contents

As you probably know, the numerical research in our group is quite diverse. A broad, but superficial knowledge of your field can be expected from the audience, but a short introduction will always support the rest of your talk.

This colloquium is not (only) intended to consist of 'conference talks'. If you have an open problem, or results that are only halfway: don't hesitate to explain it to the audience, and start an active discussion on possible solutions.
